When a lake dries
our fear of drowning dries too .
The immensity of its waters
like the vastness of our souls ,
and the pleasure it brings
accompanied with an overpowering urge
to drown and discover the very depth of it .
All these dry too , upon seeing the barren crust
which disillusions , like some forbidden old truth .
Thus , whenever a lake dries
our fear of drowning dries too
for we drown , somewhere deep inside .
